First and foremost, I have made very, very, very little progress on my coloring. However, here's where I am currently at:

I feel like apologizing every time I post an in progress shot simply because I feel like I'm spamming (and yet when I see other people's lj entries, I love to see in progress shots!) Anyway, I'm currently working on getting the background to be sound. I have a very solid plan in mind, so please hold the inevitable "oh noes! Composition mess!" until I'm actually finished ;-) I'm aware that it's a little busy, but I'm going to be attending to that shortly.
Secondly,
Otakon was the best convention I've ever been to. Because it was so big, I was able to talk to a lot of my visitors, people I know online, and fellow artists. It turns out that all of the artists that I follow online are my height or smaller. (and I'm not that tall!) I always pictured them as these big, online prescences! I mean, I think "Fireeyes" and I think large purple dragon, Skulldog as this giant ghost predator, and Aido as the fuzzy mammal-dragon. It turns out that they're all just really cute girls XD. I also got to meet Asuka who moderates my Oekaki boards. It turns out that she's also short and cute! I also got to meet up with Becky of Lucent Canvas again, but there was no "hey, it's a cute girl!" shellshock, because I allready knew that Becky was adorable when I met her at Ohayocon a couple of years back when we did a tee shirt trade. (I still have mine!)
Most of my weekend was taken up at the Alley, where the tee shirt business FINALLY made a profit after so many months of convention flops and losses. It saved the business, ensuring that my sisters will be able to continue to use it for a college tutition supliment. A big thanks to everyone who bought something. You're awesome!
What time wasn't spent at the alley was spent running around the con in my newly purchased neon purple kitty accesories. I was assasinated by the self appointed "furry slayer" who slit necks all over the con of those of us who happened to have tails... After I ressurrected myself, I proceeded to the dealer's room, went O.O and went back to my table. It was sooooo huge! I honestly didn't know what to buy. I wanted a soveneir, but most of the things taht I really wanted to buy where in the artist's alley. I ended up getting a really awesome Khimari figure. It's over a foot high, and VERY detailed. He lived at my artist's alley table for the rest of the weekend, where everyone admired him.
In addition to haveing the most awesome alley, assasins, and dealers room, Otakon also had the most awesome cosplayers. The costumes were WILD. People put so much effort into them, and they were in such great quantitiy. At most other conventions I've been to, there's been 5-10 really awesome costumes per con, with the rest looking like they were thrown together overnight. At Otakon fully half of the costumes were put together with time and effort. They were flipping awesome! Naruto and Bleach seemed to be the most popular cosplay outfits this year, but I must say that my personal favorite was the girl who dressed up as Lenore, complete with oversized head. Her costume was flawless, and she was so cute stumbling in and out of our hotel elevator! :3
My cubicle at AG is now decorated with lovely, signed prints and my Otakon badge. I pulled out all my other con badges and put them up as well, in addition to some dragon beanie babies, Stich, Squall, Obiwan, Malificent, and Khimari figures. Now my cubicle is awesome thanks to such cool Otakon artists!!! Other employees were stopping by and admiring their handiwork... and my purple hair...
