Tastes like graphite

Still debating the 4 legs/2 wings 2 legs/2 wings structure of my butterfly dragons. I think I'm leaning toward the 2/2 but even if I go 4/2, the front limbs will be t-rex small. This looks best in the air, which is where they'd be doing most of their fighting, hunting, general awesomeness from. However on ground is kinda awkward. For now I'm going with a gorilla sort of approach, with the creature walking on the knuckles of it's wings since they're pretty muscular limbs and could probably support it on the ground if it can support it in the air.

Yeah... I've thought about this way to much, lol.

I forgot it's antennae :-(

Roll Tide (Hans Zimmer) - A very epical (I love my made up words!), score piece from the film Crimson Tide. The first half of it just keeps building and building in a very Zimmer mannner, but it's more melodic then some of his later stuff.

Suicide Mission - (Wide Whirled Music) - Another trailer score piece, this was used in the Eragon trailer that made me want to see the movie. Ah- the one without any talking and just lots of clips of dragon flying/being cool flashed at you at a hypnotic pace. While the movie was laughably bad, (hell, I had fun going), the dragons were awesomesauce and much luv!

Half finished

I have a few half finished sketches, but nothing substantial. This is upsetting for the daily sketch effort. I'm going to try to get back into it. It's only mid January! The resolution cannot fail so soon! I am better then this! ...I hope.

Here's something (it's actually quite a bit farther along then in this scan- but lazy-) that I've been working on. Attempt like 20something at a cover for book 2. If it's hard to tell what's going on, don't ask me, cause ah- I have no clue... I'm takin' this as it goes... and er... it goes. My cunning plan is just to pack in so much detail, you don't notice the lack of composition or understanding of anatomy...

I started coloring the dragon for the layout. He's going to be adorning the menu of most of the main site. I'm going to have to look at the little guy on some other moniters. I know that the one i work on is very bright and let's me see "black" in all different shades of grey, but when I look at the same artwork on other moniters, it's just covered in black tar. I hope this is not the case with this one, because I'm very fond of him right now. Just gotta give the rest of his body the same treatment as the head. Been about a year since I've done coloring under pencils instead of inks.

I also gave my LJ a bit of a facelift. It's like a lovechild between the upcoming NDA layout and LJ's default layout. Dunno if I like it yet. >>;

Zero - (Ace Combat 5) A really keen bit of game score music that's mix of several different genres, going from something actioney and tense, to something almost salsa sounding, then to something that sounds like a soviet anthem. It's odd, but works!

Dragons 3

Here's that dragon I started before Ohayocon, paired up with one I just completed to make a finished sketch page. While I'm not at all knocked out about the lopsided, big headed, gimp wing western dragon, I'm very pleased with how the eastern dragon came out in comparison to the ones I posted before. I think I definately made some improvements. Less mess with the curly hair, and a good compromise between the extremely long and sorta stubby versions of the bodies from Sunday. I also gave it a thicker head and feet so it's less delicate then before.

Sadame - (X TV) - An orchestrated bit of background music for the X TV series composed by Naoki Sato. Marchy, dramatic, and awesome.
