I'm going into friend's list withdrawl. I get the urge to refresh and look for new distractions, but there's nothing there! I need a 2 step LJ patch to help get me through the tough times :-(

Sorry about the 3 missed days of sketches. I spent the weekend at Ohayocon and have not had internet access. The con was great and the artist alley was full of spiffy people. The costumes were intricate, and anime hell was more awful than ever! In business news, everyone loved the book, and the new dogtag necklaces and keychains that we had this year featuring my art did very well. My laptop remains as it was 6 months ago, which is out of commission, thus there was no on color work. I got some sketching done, so the weekend was not a complete bust art-wise.

This previous image of Kyla always sold well on t-shirts, so my mom wouldn't let me take her off the table. The thing is that I'm always embarrassed to have such ancient, technically poor art (bad line quality, squished face, dagger sharp hair, giant meat paws, elephant-mouse, photo-edit BG, and poor coloring.) gracing artist's alley, so I really wanted to dump the piece. I therefore redid her in exactly the same pose to be a replacement for the old artwork, in addition to being one of the interior illustrations on the index of book #2. She's not perfect, but she's a lot better looking than before. I'm going to try coloring underneath my pencil shading to get a bit of a softer look without having to go airbrush smooth/fuzzy.


I'll post some more drawings tomorrow. I really want to get this daily thing down. I've got a good stockpile of sketches ready for it!
