Comic Project

As I'm sure that I've mentioned before, my final for illustration methods is to do an 8 or more page book of some sorts. I'm doing a comic book (duh!) as a 10-12 page prelude to TimeScapes, quaintly titled "Chapter 0". Since this is a project for a class we have to do a full size 150% page on the real paper, and ink and color it with a lot more time then I normally spend on a TimeScapes page. A normal TS page usually takes me about 4 hours from start to finish, while these will probably end up taking 8. They will be all cool-style! Ah well, here's the pencils on the cover and the first page. They look kinda nice, but everything looks better with color (I'm a much better colorist then a drawer, and I know it!) I'm hoping for a semi-professional result. If I get to a good enough level, I may be able to start 3000 Years in 2004 instead of 2005 ;) ... I want to wait before I start 3,000 Years because my art is still changing. TS is my guinea pig, so I'm learning a lot from it.

Oh, don't worry, these aren't the pages for this next update. The update this week will consist of one full color page that continues Chapter 4. I'd love to do more than one page, but as stated in the updates, I'm in way over my head with school and commissions, so there's really no way to update my sites like I used to until mid-May rolls around.

Chapter 0 will be fun because it opens up the comic with a bit of action and nice art! When brand new readers go from the end of Chapter 0 to the beginning of Chapter 1, they'll be all "what the heck happened to the art?!?! Where'd the plot go!?!? Where are the bishounen?!!!!! Did the artist have a seizure and lose all of her drawing ability?!?!" ^______^ Yeah.... that'll be fun in a sadistic sort of way.

hee hee... maybe when I'm all finished with Chapter 0 at the end of school I'll post the whole batch for a happy week! ...or I could stock pile them and use them for 3 weeks of solid 3-4 page updates... but mass posting is such fun... then again, I really don't want to work more then I have to, but I still want the darn story to advance! We'll see how lazy I feel when the time actually comes.

Wow, lots of typing, little to show for it. I love planning ahead for things that I will inevitably have come to pass much later than anticipated! (4 months ago I was predicting that I would be finished with Chapter 5 by the time school was over; heck, I'll be lucky to be halfway through Chapter 4!) Ok, less rant, more art! You know you love it when I clutter up your friends page and make it hard to load!
